Challenge to write

5/19- What is your favorite activity to do with your family? And why?

I have no idea. I like to go to church with my kids. I also like to cook with Brad. We also enjoyed going to Morgan's Wonderland in San Antonio in December. I am definitely making a trip back there, but getting a hotel room. I didn't like getting back that late. Plus it will give Brad time to sleep and calm down. The trip was reasonable. About 60 dollars for MegaBus (extra because I had to change one of the dates and times), $15 dollars for the park (myself only. kids are free). 8 to 10 dollars for public transportation to and from the park. plus about 10 dollars on food in the park. We could bring food in as well but there was not any grocery stores near the park.

5/20- Do you have siblings? If so, what do you think are there best qualities?

I have two sisters. I am the oldest. Rachel is the middle sister. Nikala (Courtney) is the youngest. Rachel is a good hacker into stuff. She can hack into her boyfriend's phone. Just going through the phone is not good enough--she hooks the phone up the pc and gets additional information. She also can drink with the best of them. When she dropped out of school, she immediately went for her GED.  Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that's all i got for now lol.

Nikala is a good student and good worker. She developed a home school co-op with other parents, where each parent teaches to their strengths. She has her own place and car. She has traveled the world--Africa last year and currently she is in Paris. She wants to go to The Dominican Republic and Haiti in the fall. So, far I have been to Cancun and the Bahamas. I prefer to travel on this hemisphere right now and she is traveling on the other hemisphere. 

5/21- Where would you like to be in 10 years from now?

Older, wiser, with a steady job. my own place. finally divorced from the kids father. maybe in a stable relationship. Brad will be 22 and Kalen will be 12. Hopefully, they will have all the services they need to improve independence.

Blogging Daily. I have not blogged daily. remembering to write. wanting to write when i am not motivated to do so.

5/17- If they made a movie about your life, who would you want to play you? And why?

Not sure. Someone, who likes to read. Someone, who was a loner. Someone, who can deal with quick weight gain and loss.   A good girl, who blossomed later in life, only to be let down by the roller coaster of life. Someone, who looks good with glasses and short hair. 


5/18- One thing in your life that you most regret and why?

My sexual past. Some of the things I did,  I wish  I did not do. Some people, I wish I left alone. Some experiences--left only in the pages of Zane or a street lit novel or a romance novel.

Challenge to Write 5/15 and 5/16

5/15- If you could be any age again for a week, which would you choose?

I am not sure. Definitely do not want to relive some things over again, like puberty or marriage or my miscarriages. I don't want to go back to high school and re-do that either. I think I am just happy at the tender age of 33.

5/16- If someone gave you a free plane ticket to anywhere in the world, where would you go? And why?

I want to see the Caribbean, Puerto Rico, Brazil, maybe Hawaii. I have been to Georgia (visited and moved), Tennessee, Florida (Orlando, Lake City, and Florida Keys). I have been to North and South Carolina. Born, raised, and currently living in Texas. I also been to the Bahamas and Cancun via Carnival. Went to the Florida Keys via Royal Caribbean since Jamaica was facing a hurricane. I have so much of this hemisphere I want to explore. Not sure, if I want to visit the other hemisphere yet. I want to visit places like the North lol. I never been in the Northern or Western States. I want to see Chicago, New York, DC, California, Pennsylvania, Canada, Boston, etc.

If you could have personally witnessed one event in history, what would you want to have seen?

I have no idea. Maybe it will be witnessing the Birth, death, or resurrection of Christ. or the baptism of John the Baptist. Maybe witnessing John's dreams (Revelation). I also would like to see the creation of the world. Or the day, my mother met my daddy, so I can see what the heck attracted him to her. Or the plagues of Egypt, the first passover, or the first thanksgiving.

5/11- Which of the four seasons best suits your personality and why?

hmmmmmm, winter is cold, but can bring gifts and the love of Jesus Christ. Spring represents life, birth, changes. Fall represents change and life again. Summer is fun, carefree, open, hedonistic (depending on what you are doing). Summer allows time to slow down, relax, and have fun. I would be Spring or Fall. 

5/12- Share your 9 favorite books of all time

I am an avid reader. Not sure if this are the  top books, but they are some of the best. 

1. Any way the wind blows by E.Lynn Harris.  I also like Mama Dearest; Basketball Jones;  Invisible Life; Just as I am; What becomes of the broken hearted; I say a litle prayer; IF this world were mine; Just too good to be true; Not a day goes by; A love of my own. I loved Basil Henderson.
2. Addicted by Zane. Nervous is good as well. 
3. Malcolm X by Alex Haley
4. The baby of the family  and The Hand I fan with by Tina McElroy Ansa
5. Left behind by Jerry Jenkins and Tim LaHaye (read the entire series). I also love LaHaye's Babylon Rising series. Similar to Angels and Demons and the Davinci Code, but based on biblical artifacts. 
6. Pleasure by Eric Jerome Dickey(hated the ending). I also like Dying for Revenge, Sleeping with Strangers, Waking with Enemies, Chasing Destiny, Genevieve, and Milk in my Coffee. 
7. Maintenance Man by Michael Baisden. I also like Men cry in the dark.

5/13- What would be the soundtrack to your life…

I have a few songs, which would reflect my life or former life:

• DJ by Jaheim: it is a song about a woman, who rotates through men, never giving the right one a chance
• Little Red Corvette by Prince: song about a women, who has sex with a lot of men.
• American Dream by Casting Crowns: it's about building a foundation on anything but God and watching it fall away. The character in the song was a father, who worked too much, and never spent time with his wife and son. They kept asking for his time, but he kept putting it off until another day. 

And he works all day and tries to sleep at night. He says things will get better but he's running out of time.

and the wind and the waves kept crashing in

• This is it by Kirk Franklin. I love the song. it talks about being sick and tired of this life and wanting more. These problems can not be it. Has to be something more to life. 
• Priceless by Joe--Well I am priceless. 
• I need you now by Smokey Norful. I was going through something at the time and this song was what I needed. I never heard of Smokey before, since I do not listen to the radio. I went to an event in Atlanta to see my husband (AKA Joe Thomas). One of the tables had free gospel cds. I grabbed one because it was free, but I did not listen to it until weeks later. I was moved. Wish I had played that cd earlier, but it was just what I needed at the time.

Yeah I am behind.

5/8- When did you know your husband/wife was the one?

I got married at 19 (2000), shortly before my 20th birthday. I have no idea why I thought he was the one. Still waiting on the divorce papers :-). I think I was entranced that someone actually wanted to date me. I have heard since birth how I could not get a man because I was not smart enough or skinny enough for feminine enough. I married the first boyfriend I ever had. We met online in September, 1998. We met in person in January 1999 and we got married in January 2000. There were red flags, but I ignored them, but they irritated me on the inside. Thought I could handle marriage. I was wrong. But, I learned from the good and bad. I know what not to expect if and when I get remarried. 

5/9- A little about your hometown…

I was born in Houston, Texas. I was raised in Conroe, Texas. I stayed in the African-American neighborhood (Tamina). Some people thought Tamina was it's own city and separate from Conroe. It seemed safe, but it was riddled with drug problems. My grandmother, uncles, and my mama ex all sold drugs. My uncles and my mama ex also did drugs. My middle uncle also scammed people out of their money. I had nightmares that all the people he scammed, trying to kill the whole family. I did not go anywhere. I did not have friends. I was a homebody, avid reader, tv watcher, computer fiend. I don't know much about my neighborhood. It was black. The schools were decent and about five minutes away by car (30 to 40 minutes walking the long way). The schools were  majority White, 25% black, and 3% other. My graduating class in high school (1998) had over 600 graduates. The ROTC program was amazing. I signed up when the program first started. 3 years of AFJROTC. I loved the discipline and structure. The rich neighborhood was across the highway. It had the golf courses, fancy high school, million dollar homes. Everyone wanted to live in the Woodlands. 

5/10- Your favorite rainy day movie…

I do not have one. I love to watch all sorts of movies. I own some, plus have access to Amazon instant video plus hulu plus xfinity tv. yet, all these avenues, do not have one of my favorite movies for free (Usual Suspects).

Challenge to write 5/7/ 2013

Your favorite activity besides blogging…

I like to read and write. I love books. I love to write poetry. I like all sorts of books (Christian, fiction, non-fiction, science fiction, romance, drama, thriller, business, psychology, special needs, etc). I been a fan of reading since forever. My mother taught me to read at a young age. I was a fan of Danielle Steel, E.Lynn Harris, Alex Haley, John Grisham, and other authors at a young age. I have read 1000s or more page books within 24 hours (i.e. The Left Behind Series, Book 13). I also started writing poetry at a young age. I don't have any of my earlier work. Accidently left it behind in Georgia and it is gone now. I have written published poetry and short stories. If anyone wants to review Chocolate Kisses, Love.Lust.Life, or any of the books on Smashwords, let me know and I will generate a free code for you. 

Chocolate Kisses was dedicated to a former addicktion of mine. I thought I was in love with him, but I was really in strong lust with his penis. Writing the book was hard but it became therapy for me.

Love.Lust.Life was another collection of poetry. I wrote on various topics. Some was dedicated to people. Anyway, LLL required me to dig deep and write real feelings about real topics. 

Conversations with Normality was a short story I wrote for a contest on Lulu. It was semi-fictional based on a conversation I had with my oldest, who is autistic and ADHD. 

Conversations with Sexuality was a short story, I wrote to deal with some feelings I had about my celibacy. 

Miscarried was a short story, I wrote to deal with some feelings, I had during my last miscarriage in 2009. Had my first one in 2005. Still dealing with feelings, which arise every now and then. 

Conversing with Salvation was a short story, I wrote about my oldest. I wondered how he can be saved, if he may not understand God's grace and mercy.

First attempt, was a short story I wrote for National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), but I never finished it. 

Conversations First edition combines Normality, Miscarried, and Salvation into one edition. Later, I added First Attempt and Sexuality, but didn't realize I didn't edit the first book, until it was published. So Conversations Second Edition has all the short stories. 

I was working on a blog-type book about raising special needs kids, but my laptop is down, and I can not find the updated file on Google drive. Hopefully, it will be working soon.

Challenge to write

I have not done the last few challenges to write. I missed yesterday because I was in a bad mood. My children have therapy two to three, or more days per week. Early Childhood Intervention and Physical therapy for my youngest. Speech therapy for my oldest. I started cleaning downstairs yesterday to get a head start. My mother and I recently cleaned out the hallway closet and attempting to go through, box up, and toss out 7 years worth of stuff. I was cleaning the kitchen first. When I got ready to mop, I pushed everything out of the kitchen area (chairs, Kalen in his stroller, stools, trash).  I started to mop the floors. The floor obviously was wet and slippery. Kalen started crying. My mother's ex didn't want to hear him cry and wanted to bring Kalen into the kitchen. Told Kalen's grandpa multiple times, Do not bring my baby into the kitchen, the floor is wet. Next thing, I know the jackass was doing so anyway. He didn't understand that strollers have wheels. Wheels can get wet and slip and slide. Kalen may slip and slide, hurt his self, and then, I have to go to the hospital, alone---which is not fun. So, I cussed out my kid's grandpa, my mother's ex, the other half of my genetic DNA. Now, he upset because my mother is siding with me. This brings up problems, they had in their relationship. He needs his own place or go back home to his wife or one of his womens, since he thinks he is a player. One reason why women need standards when dating.

So Anyway, I missed two prompts:

I have no idea. Maybe MLK or Malcolm X. Napoleon or Benedict Arnold. Maybe Jesus and ask him some questions about life. How to overcome some obstacles? How to grow closer to him. How to get over some hurts from my past and move forward.

5/6- What does your family mean to you…

Family is people, who love you, despite your flaws. Family, is people, who will be there for you--even if not all the time. Family may not always be biological. I have close friends, I consider family. I got people, related biologically, that I do not consider family. I tolerate them. I may help them from time to time, but we may never have a close relationship. Family are people, who I can go to for problems, and not feel judged or put down or have self-esteem lowered.

What is one thing you completely dislike and why?

This is a hard question. There are a lot of things, which I dislike. People, who pick on special needs kids. Lateness. People, touching my stuff. changing poopy diapers. annoying relatives. weed. dark liquor. apple products. trying to explain celibacy.

But for today, I will focus on kids, who pee in my bed, leaving me to clean my bedding, every other day. I have a nice bed. I splurged on the bed--a nice tempurpedic because I was having back problems. I got the bed in 2011, shortly after giving birth to the youngest and having my tubes tied.  Wish I had gotten mattress covers right away because there was an ink stain. but anyway, currently I have 2 plastic waterproof covers; 2 waterproof mattress pads, 1 non waterproof mattress pad, and a pillow top cover. not to mention, the sheets, blankets, and pillows. 

Somehow, someway, my oldest (Autistic, ADHD, not fully potty trained) finds a way to pee in my bed on a regular basis. My son broke his bed and will sleep anywhere, including my bed. (floor, sofa, etc). My youngest (developmentally delayed) also has a habit of ripping off his diapers (yay me).  Nothing like waking up to the smell of fresh pee and/or rolling over and getting wet. I have a lot of bedding to wash. Of course, I still have to find a way to keep both kids off the bed, until the bedding is dried and the bed is re-made. This requires, lifting the bed up, and putting it against the wall, until everything is washed and dried. 

In the before covers and pad days, I had to literally bleach my mattress. I had to take everything off, including the zippered covers on the mattress. Wash and dry it all. Then, spray the foam mattress directly with clorox to kill the urine smell. I was glad when I walked into Family dollar and saw the plastic mattress pads for $4 dollars each. I am on my second one, since my youngest tore part of the elastic off the first one, but $ 4 is a good deal to keep the mattress pee free. I still use the first one though.

Challenge to write 5/2/2013

Tell me one of your favorite comfort foods and Why?

I am late posting this, but one of my favorite comfort foods is ice cream. I love ice cream, whether Mayfield or HEB Creamy Creations. I love some Blue Bell and Ben and Jerry's. Every now and then, I will splurge on some Gelato, Sherbet, or Sorbet. Im waiting on HEB to bring back the honey and strawberry flavor. 

I love the different flavors and textures. Last month, I bought some Mexican Chocolate Ice Cream and some Strawberry Shortcake. I also love Cookies and Cream and willing to try anything with Chocolate.

What is my favorite memory from childhood?

I am not sure of my favorite memory from childhood. I was diagnosed with seizures and epilepsy at 14. Lasted two years. Some of my memories are in bits and pieces, or not there at all. I remember the family going to Splash Town every year. I remember myself riding the Lazy River, because I can not swim. What better way to have fun, other than an inner tube, around a calm river. I also enjoyed the wave pool. I made sure  I never went past 5 ft because I am 5ft 2 inches. I do not want to drown. I found this old pics on my Facebook page. This pics were taken at Splashtown a long, long, long time ago, maybe 1999 or 2000.
