Mira Digital Kitchen Scale with Stainless Steel Bowl Product Review (Tomoson)

Posted on 19:22 by Unknown

I reviewed MIRA Digital Kitchen Scale with Stainless Steel Bowl (ST95) Food Scale Baking Scale for Tomoson. This post contains Amazon affiliate links and images.

The digital scale holds 11 lbs. It also has a large display with a blue backlight. The bowl helps you weigh whatever you need to cook that excellent meal. Whether you are weighing flour, sugar, or corn meal. The scale also zero's out, so you can get accurate measurements. You also can use the scale for weight control.

The scale also can be adjusted for multiple units: grams, fluid ounces, and pounds.

My kids also loved the bowl. They opened up the box before I did. Kalen used the bowl to carry things in, while he was walking around. I had to hide in another room to create the video review because they wanted to play with the bowl.

The product is 27.99 on Amazon and is Prime Eligible. Next, the scale comes with 3 AAA batteries and the instruction manual. Finally, the product comes with a full warranty. If something breaks, contact Mira for customer service and assistance.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Cutlass: 10 Tales of Pirates Book Review (Tomoson)

Posted on 21:38 by Unknown

I reviewed Cutlass: Ten Tales of Pirates (Ten Tales Historical & Fantasy Stories), in exchange for review from Tomoson. This post contains Amazon Affiliate links and images.

The book was edited by Rayne Hall. The book presents 10 tales of pirates, written by multiple authors. The stories are presented in both British and American English. The book does contain explicit language in some scenes.

The stories were very detailed and visual. The first story told of a female captain, Loresa,  of a pirate ship, whose ship needs repairing. Her men are also dying at sea. She started off with 70 plus men and now have 46ish men. The story is entitled Khaballo by Margo Lerwill. Khaballo means horse. Khova Khaballo is a god and he is linked to a curse.

The other stories include:

  • Victoria and the Iron Clad by Douglas Kolacki
  • Blind Man's Bluff by Jonathan Broughton
  • Skritch by John Blackport
  • Diamonds and Bones by Kris Radcliffe
  • Um Homme De Couleur Libre by Liv Rancourt
  • Scylla and the Paper Pirates by Rayne Hall
  • Broadsided by KJ Kiegan
  • The pensioner pirates of marine parade by Jonathan Brougton
  • The book of adventures by Douglas Kolacki

The stories are short as well. Great read.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

One step at a time (Hugo the happy starfish) book review Tomoson

Posted on 20:22 by Unknown

I reviewed ONE STEP AT A TIME (English Edition) (HUGO THE HAPPY STARFISH Educational Children's Book Collection) by Suzy Liebermann, in exchange for review from Tomoson. The book was published by Happy Language Kids, LLC. This post does contain Amazon affiliate links and images.

The book is a Hugo the Happy Starfish book. Hugo is usually a happy starfish. He values love, friendship, and self-worth. In this book, Hugo wanted to climb the Matterhorn in Switzerland. He saw a picture on a candy wrapper and longed for adventure. Getting to the Matterhorn would not be easy. He had to go through a series of steps to find the mountain. The first step was to take a friend to the airport.

The book was a quick read and I enjoyed the book. The book teaches kids about not giving up, commitment, dedication, and setting goals. It also teaches kids about organization and following instructions. If Hugo did not follow instructions, he would not have reached his goals.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Grace Unplugged and Own It Book reviews (Flyby Blog Promotions)

Posted on 15:27 by Unknown

I reviewed Grace Unplugged by Melody Carson for Flyby Blog Promotions. I also reviewed Own It by Michael and Hayley DiMarco. The post contains Amazon affiliate links and images.

I am behind with this review. I thought it was due next week. I went through a few 100 emails and found the reminder. I am late.

First, Grace Unplugged is a fiction novel. The main character is Grace Trey, an 18 year old singer, who is waiting for her big break. Her big break may cause her to shift from her Christian faith. Will Grace fall to temptation or hold fast to her beliefs. The movie is being released October 4, 2013. I have seen the previews all last week on television. The movie will star AJ Michalka and Kevin Pollack. The movie also features music by Chris Tomlin and Jamie Grace.

Next, Own it, discover your faith in God is a non-fiction book, which discusses owning your faith. When you own something, you take more responsibility for it. You take better care of it than something you are renting or borrowing. People need to own their faith. Be accountable for their beliefs and values.

Some passages, which stood out included:

Your faith isn't so much about what you have done or not done, but what God has done and how much he has loved you. The most awful thing about faltering faith isn't the human relationships, which suffer......but it is the fact that you are missing out on the love and acceptance God has waiting for you (p. 3).

When you own your faith, you are a changed human being. You are a safe, human being. you don't rely on others to affirm you or accept you, but you are still able to accept and love them. You are able to love unconditionally and any rejection others may offer is no longer something you take personally. (p.3).

Those passages stood out  and made me want to read more of Own It. I grew up in the Christian faith. I always knew Jesus existed. He died on the cross for our sins, but I'm not sure if I have ever owned my faith. I sometimes still want others to accept me. I hate rejection. The book said I may have faked my faith. On page 7, it states:

Ownership can also apply to a state of heart, a way of living whereby you make what you say and what you do agree. As in when you own your actions, rather than faking your way through life, living a double life, pretending to be something that you aren't in order to please those you love.

There are a lot of people faking their faith instead of owning it. Recently in Sunday School, a female said that there is a difference between being a fan and a follower of Christ. I have been a fan. I have faked my faith. Just because I believe in Christ, does not make me a owner of the faith. It does not make me devoted. I have to change my behavior, my thoughts, to reflect Christ. I have a lot to work on. like praying more, reading the bible more, stop cussing, and a lot of other things. Just being mostly good isn't good enough. Doing the right things does not make you have ownership of your faith, as well. Having faith in myself and in man, will lead/has led to disappointment.

Own it is a great book to add to your book collection. I wish there was a workbook or study guide for the book. I have read another one of Hayley and Michael DiMarco's books, Cupidity. I got it from Tyndale Rewards. The DiMarco's have a great writing style and I have learned a lot from their books.

BryBelly Product Review Craps Rattan Stick and Green Disc Markers

Posted on 00:23 by Unknown
I reviewed BryBelly Craps Rattan stick and Green Disc Markers. This post does contain Amazon affiliate links and images.

First, the craps rattan stick is 36 inches and is made out of solid wood. It is good and sturdy. I had to hide the stick from the kids. My youngest used the stick to practice walking with, but he also tried to spin the stick and hit me a few times. My mother explained the game of craps to me.

Craps is a game, which uses dice. People bet on the outcome of the dice. The stick helps the stickman collect the dice so the dealer can pay out the winners of the game.

I found this website with craps vocabulary . The stick is used to move the dice in a game of craps.

The sticks are the same ones used at casinos, such as Harrah's.

The field cones are 2 inches and made from soft plastic. My kids love the field cones. They have used them for teething practice and throwing around the room. I have incorporated the field discs into Brad's home school curriculum for physical education. I can mark off a playing area outside or in the game room. I also can use them to set up a quick obstacle course.  The kids also used them like eye glasses or telescopes. You really can get creative with the discs.
The set comes with 12 plastic discs.

Both products are available on Amazon. The craps rattan stick is Prime Eligible. The prices range from depending on size of the stick. The green disc markers are 3.99. The discs also come in blue, orange, white and yellow. The discs are not prime eligible.

Edible Green Tea Product review (Tomoson)

Posted on 20:04 by Unknown

I reviewed Edible Green Tea, in exchange for honest review on Tomoson. The post contains Amazon affiliate images. The website for edible green tea is found here as well

I first heard of the Edible tea months ago, when I received a sample in my Bulu Box, I got for review. The sample got lost and I never got a chance to try it. I was happy when I got chosen to review it again.

The tea looks like short, little strips. You simply add a little to your food each day. You can add it to cereal or oatmeal, maybe a smoothie. I made a big mistake when I tried it the first time. Each packet represents your daily serving. I messed up and added all the tea to my oatmeal. No bueno. It was too much edible tea in my food. I did finish it though but it took some time. I also added it to Yogurt to give it a little crunch.

After that, I been adding a sprinkle here and there, versus the whole package to my foods.

Edible Green Tea provides you a daily sample of a whole leaf of green tea. The tea is organic and contains the purest tea leaves. The tea also contains plenty of antioxidants.

The website also offers recipes, such as Chocolate Bundt Cake, Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Potatoes, and Pinwheel Cookies.

The product is sold on Amazon, but is not available. Currently out of stock. The product is also sold on the primary website for $25 dollars for a 1 month supply. The tea also comes in powdered form for $25 dollars as well.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Matcha DNA Green Matcha Tea Product Review (Business 2 Blogger)

Posted on 21:40 by Unknown

I reviewed Matcha DNA Powdered Green Matcha Tea for Business 2 Blogger.  I was sent 34 individually wrapped pouches in the mail. This post contains Amazon affiliate links/images.

I first heard of Matcha Tea awhile back. I had gotten a few samples in the mail from a website. The tea was delicious. I learned that Matcha tea is not just made for drinking, but it can be used in recipes, such as smoothies and ice cream.

Matcha Tea is organically and sustainably grown. The tea tasted simple and delicious. It didn't contain all the extra. The tea is also high in antioxidants. I also learned from the back of the package that one glass of Matcha DNA is equal to 10 glasses of green tea (nutritional value and antioxidants.).

The product is currently 19.71 on Amazon and is Prime Eligible.

I and the Great Divide by Fiona McGlynn

Posted on 16:26 by Unknown

I read i and the Great Divide (The Love Letter Series) in exchange for honest review. The book was written by Fiona McGlynn. The book was also illustrated by Robin Urquhart. I was provided a pdf copy of the book. This post does contain Amazon affiliate links and images.

Creator’s bios:(from media kit)

Fiona McGlynn-Author

Fiona grew up on the West Coast with a love of stories. Like i, Fiona's family changed when she was young. Fiona found this hard at the time but later realized that it had all worked out for the best. She wrote "i and the Great Divide" to help others with changing families. Fiona loves to play ukulele, climb rocks, sail boats, and curl up with a good cup of tea and a book.

Robin Urquhart-Illustrator

Robin was born and raised in Canada’s great white North. His father, a well-known Northern cartoonist, instilled in him a love for bringing stories to life through pictures. In addition to drawing, he loves animals, climbing and playing music. Robin lives in an igloo (not true) and takes a dogsled to school everyday (also not true).

My Review:

The book helps children, who are going through divorce heal. My parents are divorced, but they did not get divorced until I was 24 years old. I took it different from the kids in the story because I was happy Arlene and Willie got divorced. I personally believe those two should have never gotten married. The marriage had tons of issues, and most of them have never been resolved. For example, my father denies he ever cheated on my mother, but he has Martina, my 18 year old half-sister.

Another favorite tale was those two opened up a bank account and both parties would not tell the other what they got out, which lead to a lot of negatives and over withdrawals.

Anyway, back to the book:

The book is about the alphabet letters, who come together to form words: word friends, families, groups, etc. i (used in lowercase in the book) is one of those special letters. i was part of the family tin. She was happy. Her family spent a lot of time together making words, such as tinsel and tin soldiers. Then, one day, the n wanted something different: a capital letter. n wanted to become N. i's family was now fighting and i thought she was the cause of the problem and wanted to resolve her family's issues.

No matter what she did, it did not resolve the fighting between t and n. i also started to change for the worse. She started acting out. T and N are still fighting for most of the book

i felt sad, unloved, and depressed. She thought she was doing something wrong. She tried to resolve her families problems.

Read the book to learn how she tried to resolve her families problems, how she acted out, and how the family finally came together and found peace.

I liked reading the book. It was a quick read. There are also discussion questions at the end of the book.

Last week in review

Posted on 09:26 by Unknown

I went to a friends fb page because I have not heard from him in a while. His last post said he was in jail. Barry and I went to school together at University of Phoenix. He was quiet, hardworking, but had a criminal past. Another friend and former classmate had asked about him. I told her he was in jail. She asked why. I didnt know so we googled it. We was shocked at what we found. No drugs. No alcohol. No domestic abuse. No stealing. It was worse. Child molestation. Third strike. Life in jail. Does he deserve to go to jail? Yep. What I dont understand is multiple life sentences on top of extra time. You only get one life. Barry is 40 years old. He isnt going to live forever. I just hope he stays on his ps and qs. Being a child molester in jail is no bueno. I watch lock up raw and other similar shows. Based on that, i am praying he turns to God and asks for Gods guidance and grace, while he serves his time.
--------------+------------

The kids and i plus the niece and nephew ventured to the backyard to clean and play. We focused on the patio. We moved all the junk. Trimmed hedges. Raked the old grass. Hosed off the patio. Let the kids get some water play.

My great niece got naked and followed me around. She liked the hose. Kalen followed suit. I finally set up the plastic pool and let them play. Once my oldest started stripping, i got the babies out. We spent a few hours outside. Got back in and my niece hasnt got home yet. Leaving me with still 4 bad kids. One of them is hers. My great nieces grandma didnt want to help and her great grand mom had to go to work.

The niece  showed up after 8pm crying. She went to a friend house after school. Somehow she bruised her shoulder. Instead of going to the ER right away, she came home. Her mama called 911 and the ambulance came. Once again leaving me with 4 kids. Luckily brad, kalen , and riah went to sleep. Having two special needs kids is a lot without adding on more. My niece went to school 1 or 2 days last week. Missing bc of a cold and a bruised shoulder.

Finally we had the xbox incident. My mama bought a xbox for the living room with grand theft auto san andreas. Brad isnt allowed on gta bc he gets aggressive. I went downstairs to do something and saw brad playing. I should made him get off then but  i saw broken glass in the sink.

My sister broke a glass pan in the sink. The glass was in the garbage disposal and on the floor too. I had to get the glass up. So i let brad play the game. He was doing fine until my nephew asked to play. Brad didnt respond so lil eugene took the controller. Big mistake. It triggered a level 5 brad meltdown. He was hollering, screaming, kicking, biting, fighting. It lasted a while and in multiple rooms. I had to give him his meds early to calm him down. The incident got worse when my mother got involved. If a child is kicking, biting, and screaming-move your butt out the way. She got a hurt toe but i have little sympathy since she made things worse. I have to get control over brad so he can calm down. It is hard to do when other people get involved and not trying to really help. Im not paying for medical bills for any injuries. I had a hurt shoulder.

Just a drop bathroom odor eliminator Product review (Tomoson)

Posted on 01:47 by Unknown

Just A Drop Amazon Page

I reviewed Just a drop, a personal bathroom odor sanitizer, for honest review from Tomoson. I received the packets, which came with a carrying case. The post contains affiliate links and images. Just a Drop is a innovative product, which masks certain smells when you go to the bathroom. You simply pour the packet into the toilet before you go and the product immediately freshens the air. The product is made from plant extracts and biodegradable.

The product was also featured on Dr. Oz and The Doctors.

Just A Drop is available in single-use packets, in addition to bottles.

I loved using the product. You don't have to bother with air fresheners, which temporarily mask the odors. You don't have to light a candle. You don't have to light a match.  Just A Drop is perfect for using at work, church, school, and other places where you have to go in public. It is also perfect for going at home or when you visit friends, and just can't hold it in. Just a drop fits into your purse or wallet, depending on if you bought a bottle or packet. The packet also comes with a convenient carrying cash.

The product is available on Amazon, Overstock, and other websites, in addition to the Just a Drop Website. The product is Prime Eligible.  It comes in different scents and prices. The scents include Eucalyptus, Refreshing Spring, Morning Rain, Citrus Splash, Lemon Fresh, Sunshiny Day, and Floral Oasis. I definitely will be ordering some bottles later.

Each page also represents a story in the bible, such as an Angel is telling Mary she will have a baby and then your child can trace over the words, Angel. Another puzzle is a maze, where Jesus is taking a ride through Jerusalem and needs to know the right path to take.

The book provides endless fun. When your kids are through with an activity, they can wipe it clean and start over. My kids, nieces, and nephews loved the book. The book is available on Amazon for 9.78 and is prime eligible.

Dizolve Ultra Laundry Detergent Strips Product Review (Tomoson)

Posted on 10:43 by Unknown

I reviewed Dizolve Ultra Laundry Detergent Strips, in exchange for product review from Tomoson. Dizolve brings a new concept to doing laundry. Instead of using powder, liquid, or pods, you use a pre-measured strip of detergent. Each panel contains 4 strips of detergent. You can tear off as much or as little as you need to wash your clothes. The cost of a box of Dizolve costs 14.99 on the website. Each purchase also supports the Sierra Club Canada or you can support another charity or non-profit , if you search for it in the search box. You can also set up a fundraising account to raise money for your school, cause, church, non-profit, etc.

Each pack comes with 144 loads or 72 strips. The strips made my laundry smell fresh. I used one for a small load and 4 for a big load. I still have to add a little vinegar to kill a few other bodily smells, courtesy of my oldest.

Benefits:

Hypoallergenic for sensitive skin
Does not contain 1, 4-dioxane, phosphates, and parabens.
Does not contain added dyes and perfumes
Biodegradable
Safe for septic tanks
Can be used in high efficiency washers.
