I read Storm Dancer (Dark Epic Fantasy in exchange for honest review from Tomoson. This post does contain affiliate links and images. The book was written by Rayne Hall. The book does contain violence and disturbing situations. I received a paperback version of the book. I also bought the Kindle edition awhile back.
My review:
The book is about Dahoud, 25 years old, the hero with a bad past. Dahoud also is living with an internal demon, a djinn, who likes to try to force himself upon women.djinn: according to the free online dictionary, a djinn is a spirit, who is capable of assuming human or animal form. A djinn also can exert supernatural influence over people.
Dahoud has been trying to control the demon for years, but still is tempted. He misses the power, prestige, and perks (the women), which came with his old position. Dahoud is trying hard to hide his past, while living a life of humility as a clerk. It doesnt' take long for his past as the Black Besieger to get out by royalty. The consort wants Dahoud to return as the Black Besieger to carry out some tasks. If Dahoud succeeds, he may obtain a new position of power. If he declines, he gets a horrible job at the palace.
The book is descriptive. From the first line, Even in the shade of the graffiti-carved olive tree, the air sang with heat....The book also moves at the right pace. Not to slow to bore you but not to fast to lose focus and give up trying to read the book. I enjoyed reading the Storm Dancer. The book is available in paperback and kindle. The kindle version is .99 and the paperback is currently 9.18.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
